Realization I (Rødefjord, Greenland 2012)
Opposing chromatic scales illuminate the innermost layers of ancient ice sculpted from a fresh water melt pool as it emerges and shifts slowly upright. The red cliffs of Greenland’s “red fjord” reflect magenta into the cool shade of this spectacular floating arch of ancient ice. Icicles hint at material scale as the ice, used to geological timeframes, continues to adapt to its current circumstances and transform.
