The largest photography public art project in the world is coming to The Triangle!
Durham, NC has been selected as the 6th US City to host the FENCE. It will be up from August through November, 2017 in the City Center!
Over the past 5 years, THE FENCE has attracted exceptional work by talented photographers from around the world, giving us an opportunity to share these powerful photographic narratives with a diverse audience of 4 million viewers annually, while providing photographers with a truly public platform and unexpected career opportunities.
In addition to having your work exhibited around the country, $25,000 worth of prizes are being awarded, including the Jury’s Choice winner receiving a $5,000 Project Support Grant and a solo exhibition at Photoville 2017, and the People’s Choice winner will receive a Leica Camera Package and a one-year mentorship.
Winners from the Triangle Region will be eligible for a host of local prizes including museum/arts organization memberships, local shows/presentations, portfolio reviews, photography books, etc.
